I'm a 50-year-old divorced man with the energy level of a 21-year-old and the sense of humor of a teenager. I'm an encyclopedia of useless trivia knowledge, obscure movie quotes and "dad" jokes. I have two sons, ages 19 and 22, who went through the Summit school system and have now moved on to CU and CSU to pursue their academic careers. I attended both Iowa State University (undergrad) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (grad school). I started out studying aerospace engineering and eventually wound up with an MBA. The plan was to move on to Chicago, New York, Los Angeles ... or some other major city. However, I got married, had kids and wound up living in Nebraska for 20+ years and starting a small manufacturing company that produces all sorts of tools and machines that are used throughout the world to construct rocket motors and commercial fireworks. About 12 years ago, I rekindled my love of the mountains and began making regular trips to Summit to snowboard, hike, bike, etc. I found myself commuting between Nebraska and Dillon quite frequently. I finally came to the realization that constant trips made no sense. I sold the house, loaded up a few truckloads of machinery for my company, moved the entire family to Summit and have been living an active lifestyle ever since. |
