My Dear Rotarians,

Thursday night at the Area 9 Assembly was so much fun and well attended!  Thank you to all those members who came and had a great time eating good food, telling stories and laughing a lot.  THANK YOU Joan for putting the event together!

I know this is a tough time of year to commit to volunteer activities, but WE NEED YOU!!  My term will be ending very soon (sadly), however let's welcome Judi into her new role by having all volunteer slots filled!

AND - Friday June 6 is the first CAR RAFFLE sales at the Dillon Farmers Market!

Speaking of participating, don't miss out attending the raucous BINGO on Monday June 9th at the BLOCK! It would be great to have more members attend. The FDRD is the non-profit of the night!

For example - we could use a few more members to signup to help with the Hiway 9 Clean-up event in conjunction with the Breck club on Saturday June 14th.  There will be tailgating with food, drinks and lots of laughter afterwards!  What do you think the best/worst item collected will be?

Also, if you want to help out at the Copper Triangle bicycle race on August 3rd, please see Catheryn Carlson or myself.  We could potentially receive $1000.

50th Anniversary - July 12 Event - Making Good Things Happen for 50 Years.  Show your Rotary pride and don’t miss out!  Log into our SCRC website and review the available slots on signup genius.

DGE Cindy Rold is excited to be bringing back the District Learning Assembly - this is an opportunity to come together to share and collaborate for the upcoming 2025-2026 Rotary year. Go to Clubrunner and find out all the great opportunities to be a better Rotarian.

I so enjoy hugging( or fist-bumping ) each and every one of you!  Show up, participate, and have fun!

Wendy
Upcoming Fun!
Prospective member Ben Smith
I'm a 50-year-old divorced man with the energy level of a 21-year-old and the sense of humor of a teenager. I'm an encyclopedia of useless trivia knowledge, obscure movie quotes and "dad" jokes. I have two sons, ages 19 and 22, who went through the Summit school system and have now moved on to CU and CSU to pursue their academic careers. I attended both Iowa State University (undergrad) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (grad school). I started out studying aerospace engineering and eventually wound up with an MBA. The plan was to move on to Chicago, New York, Los Angeles ... or some other major city. However, I got married, had kids and wound up living in Nebraska for 20+ years and starting a small manufacturing company that produces all sorts of tools and machines that are used throughout the world to construct rocket motors and commercial fireworks. About 12 years ago, I rekindled my love of the mountains and began making regular trips to Summit to snowboard, hike, bike, etc. I found myself commuting between Nebraska and Dillon quite frequently. I finally came to the realization that constant trips made no sense. I sold the house, loaded up a few truckloads of machinery for my company, moved the entire family to Summit and have been living an active lifestyle ever since.
