Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Wear your green or get pinched!!

Our Local Grants Committee has grown over the years.  Susan Juergensmeier has been tracking the amount of money we have granted from 1999 to 2024, and the numbers tell the story:
$397,490 Total awarded to projects specific to Summit County
492  Grants Reviewed.     435  Grant requests awarded.    57  Grant requests declined
Annual budget ranged from $4,525 in 2002 to $45,000 last year. Every year  Local Grant Policies are reviewed and updated as needed.  THANK YOU to the dedicated Committee members who review the applications each quarter. It is a challenging task but results in  many benefits to our community.

Last week's program by Virginia McKenzie highlighting one person initiating an anti-Sex Trafficking program was very inspirational!  It is frightening to think of Summit County being no different than the big cities with similar issues.  What is your passion?

One of our Club's priorities is Growing MembershipLet's keep the SPARK alive!!  Bring someone you know to a meeting, sit at a different table, welcome guests with open arms.  Find out what others like to be involved in - what motivates them.  Ask those questions of yourself as well. Be sure to listen to the brief presentation on a newly proposed IMPACT/Companion Club.  It may be a great way to incorporate people who want to just participate in service projects only.  The Board will be discussing this at our meeting.

The Ice Device is on the Lake!  The filming by Traci Clark is fantastic!  Here is a link to view the launch:  https://we.tl/t-VriHGAhqe2
Meanwhile, join your fellow Rotarians selling Ice Melt tickets at either Copper Mountain on March 16th and/or A-Basin on March 29th.  Help make even more GOOD THINGS HAPPEN in Summit County!  Shifts are only 4 hours and you will have fun!  Sign up online here:

Our 50th Anniversary Committee would like help with the planning and execution of activities associated with the event.  There will be food, beverages, games, and more!  Contact Andrea Brown or Pat Simpson for openings.

The Rotary EPIC Day of Service is May 17, 2025.  We are will build a storage shed for Timberline Mobility on the north side of the Senior Center in collaboration with the Breck Club.  Plans are in the works.  Watch for further notices and participation opportunities!

I enjoy hugging( or fist-bumping ) each and every one of you!
Show up, participate, and have fun!

Wendy

Prevent ClubRunner Emails from getting "Junked"

To ensure that the club newsletter and other Clubrunner emails are successfully delivered to your email inbox, add the following email address and domain name to your email's contact list/safe senders/whitelist:

  1. mailservice@clubrunner.ca
  2. @clubrunner.email

What is a whitelist and why is this needed?

Email spam filters often include the ability to "whitelist" certain sender IP addresses, email addresses or domain names to protect their email from being rejected or sent to a junk mail folder.

From Wickipedia:  A whitelist is (1) a list of email addresses that a mail server or email client program is configured to accept as valid, incoming mail. Also called a "safe senders list," only messages from addresses on the list are allowed, and all the rest are discarded.   (2) A list of valid domain names that a mail server is configured to accept. All mail from users with that domain are allowed.

Gmail:

According to internet:  Gmail offers an option to add specific addresses or domains as "safe" so they aren't automatically marked as spam, known as a "Whitelist." Your Whitelists must be managed and set by you. If you want to accept all email sent from a specific address, follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to your Gmail
  2. Click the gear icon in the top-right, and select Settings.
  3. Click the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab.
  4. Click Create at New Filter.
  5. In the pop-up window, in the From field enter the clubrunner email addresses listed above separated by OR. example mailservice@clubrunner.ca OR @clubrunner.email
  6. Click Create filter.
  7. Check "Never send it to Spam".
  8. Click Create filter
