Did we have a great time last night in Kremmling at the Rotary Area 9 Assembly or what? Wow! Some 60 or so Rotarians and family members arrived at the Grand Old Restaurant in Kremmling to celebrate the 2nd Annual Area 9 assembly with all six mountain area Rotary clubs. Our very own Woody Woodland, Assistant Governor for Area 9, hosted this event and it was a great success. Talk about being energized by all the good that Rotarians are doing in their mountain communities! Jim Johnston, our incoming District Governor, drove up from Denver and provided us with an inspirational speech. Jim said every time a Rotarian says YES to an ask, whether it be a service project, taking on a leadership position,or helping with a fundraiser they make the Rotary wheel turn. Each time that wheel turns, YOU make good things happen in our community, our world and ourselves.
Speaking of saying YES.....Steve Cornwell unveiled the beautiful Summit Ford Bronco that will be our car raffle prize this year. What a great-looking car this is! Many thanks to member Chris Manwill of Summit Ford for arranging this car for the 2023 raffle drawing. I predict there will be many, many people saying YES to buying a raffle ticket to have a chance at winning this great car. Remember there are several behind-the-scenes vacant positions in the car raffle team that need to be filled. These positions do not involve selling raffle tickets. And, they can be tailored to your talents and available time. Please reach out to Jim Brook or Steve Cornwell to volunteer by saying YES and to find out more information.
On Monday the Summit County Rotary Interact club held their annual fundraiser dodgeball tournament at Summit High School. It was a blast to see the teams outfitted in their costumes playing dodgeball in the gym that would occasionally have the lights turned off, just to make the game more challenging. Many thanks to our long-time Interact coordinator, Rob Phipps PE, and his wife Kim Phipps, an SHS math teacher, who have shared their passion for Rotary with Interact students for well over a decade now. Please take a look at this month's Rotary magazine to find out what other Interact clubs are doing throughout the world. The entire issue has been devoted to Youth in honor of the RI theme. It is truly inspiring to read how young Interact students are tackling many world problems with new ideas and approaches. These will be the future Rotarians leading Service above Self in the world by saying YES when they are asked.

Past DG Ray Anderson and Natural Disaster Response Committee Chair JD Krones, from the Kremmling Rotary Club, presented the final funds from the Marshall Fire donations on April 27 to community organizations currently helping with the recovery and the community-wide rebuilding efforts. The December 2021 Marshall Fire destroyed more than 1,100 homes in Louisville, Superior, and unincorporated Boulder County and took the lives of two residents. The total amount raised was $153,373 from Rotarians, Rotary clubs, and friends from around the country. The YMCA of Northern Colorado identified immediate needs, and $46,000 was donated last March 2022. The Natural Disaster Response Committee received applications for funding, with a focus on mental health, children, and family services. The remaining funds were distributed at the April 2023 event as follows: Impact on Education (Foundation for Boulder Valley Schools) - $20,000; Jewish Family Service - $35,000; Marshall ROC - $35,000; Marshall Together - $17,373.

The Rotary Club of Summit County is seeking host families for the 2023-24 academic year.
Our club will be sponsoring two outbound Summit High School students, going to spend one of the best years of their lives in Sweden and Finland. In turn, we will host two foreign students who will live in our wonderful community and attend SHS next year.
Each student will stay with three different Summit County families, so each host family has a student live with them for three months. It is a fun, educational, eye-opening way to bring the world together and make international connections.

Summit County Rotary Charitable Foundation has been accepted to the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Once you link your City Market Shopper's Card to Summit County Rotary Charitable Foundation, and swipe your City Market Shopper’s Card when shopping, SCRCF will earn a reward.
1. Create a City Market digital account -- Use this link to create a City Market digital account (if you don't already have one).
2. Link your Shoppers Card to SCRCF:
-Sign in to your digital account. Make sure you have a preferred store selected to view participating organizations.
-Look for Community Rewards on the left hand bar.
-Enter Summit County Rotary Charitable Foundation or the "NPO" number PV058
-Click “Save”.
If you need to review or revisit the selected organization, you can always do so under your Account details.
3. SCRCG organization earns.
Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. City Market donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating City Market Community Rewards organizations.

Email spam filters often include the ability to "whitelist" certain sender IP addresses, email addresses or domain names to protect their email from being rejected or sent to a junk mail folder.
From Wickipedia: A whitelist is (1) a list of email addresses that a mail server or email client program is configured to accept as valid, incoming mail. Also called a "safe senders list," only messages from addresses on the list are allowed, and all the rest are discarded. (2) A list of valid domain names that a mail server is configured to accept. All mail from users with that domain are allowed.
Gmail:
According to internet: Gmail offers an option to add specific addresses or domains as "safe" so they aren't automatically marked as spam, known as a "Whitelist." Your Whitelists must be managed and set by you. If you want to accept all email sent from a specific address, follow these instructions:
Log in to your Gmail
Click the gear icon in the top-right, and select Settings.
Click the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab.
Click Create at New Filter.
In the pop-up window, in the From field enterthe clubrunner email addresses listed above separated by OR. example mailservice@clubrunner.ca OR @clubrunner.email
The Membership Committee needs new Rotary members (especially people who have joined Rotary in the last 2 - 3 years) to join the Committee to help us meet our challenges in attracting and retaining new members. The Committee meets as needed to discuss approaches in how we can add, and involve, new members. We need to recruit new folks to keep our club vibrant and involved in the community!
A Prospective Member should attend 3 meetings before turning in his/her application, sponsor form, a short bio and $50 application fee to the Membership Chairman, David Guignard, or to any one on the Membership Committee. The application will be presented to the Membership Committee for approval. Once approved, the applicant's bio will be posted in our bulletin for 3 weeks. If there are no questions about the Prospective Member, the induction will be scheduled. Two categories of Membership are available – a Family Membership and a Corporate Membership. Please contact an individual on the Membership Committee for details on these new types of Membership.
